VIENNA CHAMBER SINGERS
Vienna Chamber Singers is a recently-formed vocal ensemble with a passion for showcasing the beauty, elegance, and energy of a wide range of vocal chamber music.
VCS had their public debut at the vokal.total competition in Graz, where they won both a golden diploma and second overall prize in the “unplugged” category.
Individual members of the ensemble hail from all over the world and have performed with renowned musical institutions such as WDR Rundfunkchor Cologne, Bayreuther Festspiele, Salzburger Festspiele, and have won prizes in numerous international vocal competitions. Lead by their Musical Director Jozef Chabroň, the ensemble’s collective experience encompasses classical singing, conducting, and composing along with knowledge of a number of musical instruments. They have studied in some of the most prestigious institutions in Austria, Slovakia, Greece, Turkey, the USA and the UK, and came together through their work at the Vienna State Opera.
The diversity of their performance, research, and cultural backgrounds is the foundation of a wealth of ideas, expertise, and enthusiasm for exploring and sharing repertoire from the Renaissance to 21st century contemporary classical.
